Committed Founders Rate (only if you plan to come every week)

As a new market, it is important to have a core group of strong, committed vendors show up every week to establish this market. If that is something you are able to do, choose from the Committed Founders Rate (CFR) options. CFR vendors must commit to every week for this reduced rate (up to two call outs allowed, but you still pay for the week you miss). Agricultural tent clusters cannot exceed 600 square feet (more than six 10'x10' canopies must be configured in two clusters with a 12' space between, per the City of Tempe Fire Code). Agriculture here means anyone who grows plants or mushrooms for human consumption, bee keepers, ranchers, or wild foragers of plants, mushrooms or herbs for human consumption (foragers require special licenses). No refunds for weather related cancelled markets or markets missed by vendors for any reason.

Committed Founders Rate fee option

Select Sundays (skip if you are a Committed Founder attending every week)

Unable to come every week but still want to participate? Non-agriculture pay per market: $60 per week for 1 to 2 10'x10' spots or a food truck. Agriculture pay per market: $35 per week for 1 to 2 spots. Pay up front and it is $55 (non-agriculture) or $30 (agriculture) per market. This application lists the first six months of the market, October 11 to April 11; we will reach out about the next six months later. No refunds for weather related cancelled markets or markets missed by vendors for any reason.

Tempe City Hall (TCH) Farmers Market is a market/community space supporting Arizona and regional agriculture, Arizona local food, local small business, and the community in Tempe. TCH Farmers Market strives to provide a fun and educational experience to market goers where people can learn more about all the aspects the market supports. 1. TCH Farmers Market reserves the right to suspend or revoke a vendor's ability to sell at any point. 2. TCH Farmers Market discourages resale, however, we will consider resale if a compelling case or situation exists and also reserves the right to permit sales of these or other items at the TCH Farmers Market booth. 3. TCH Farmers Market prioritizes vendors in the following order: vendors selling Arizona grown produce, small businesses selling foods made with Arizona grown produce or other ingredients, foods made by local businesses not using local ingredients, local small businesses in Tempe, handmade items made with agricultural products, handmade items that are made with as many local, compostable, recyclable, otherwise sustainable items as possible. TCH Farmers Market does not permit the sale of any factory made items, items produced by big businesses for resale by individuals, items made of cheap plastics or other unsustainable items. 4. It is expected that vendors unable to attend a market should notify the Market manager at least 48 hours in advance. Committed Founders Rate vendors who fail to notify the manager of an absence within the 48 hour window may lose their discounted rate, and non-committed founders vendors may lose their privilege to sell. Vendor Guidelines A. The following MUST be received and approved prior to vending: 1. Completed and signed vendor registration and proof of all relevant licenses and health department certifications. 2. Copy of liability insurance for ALL value added vendors. Agricultural vendors and artists may submit a signed indemnity agreement. 3. Payment of all registration fees (unless paying as you go, which is a more expensive but can be a more convenient option for small vendors). 4. Signed EBT/FMNP vendor agreements and crop plans (for vendors accepting food stamps, Double Up Food Bucks, and/or the Farmers Market Nutrition Program only). 5. Vendors must allow a representative of TCH Farmers Market to inspect farms and facilities to ensure vendors adhere to Rules and Regulations. 6. Vendors will not be allowed to set up if they do not provide all insurance, licensing, tax ID numbers, required fees and signed documents. 7. Vendors are responsible for bringing all items needed to sell. TCH Farmers Market only provides the space. 8. Committed Founders vendors are given first right of refusal for the following six months. 9. All single use food service items must be made of paper or certified compostable products. All compostable products MUST be labelled "BPI Certified" or "Compostable". Biodegradable is not the same as compostable. No single use plastic products are permitted at the market. You will not be able to sell prepared food, beverages or distribute samples unless these requirements are met. 10. It is encouraged and expected that processed and prepared food vendors use AZ/locally grown fruits and vegetables in their products. Market Safety 1. TCH Farmers Market is a safe, fun, and inclusive space. Any disrespectful actions or comments should be reported to the market manager. The issue will be handled, and any of these actions will be stopped immediately. Any acts of violence, aggression, racism, sexism, or any other type of discrimination will result in immediate removal from the market. 2. Vendors are required to securely attach weights of at least ten pounds (twenty pounds per weight is encouraged) to each canopy leg. If using an umbrella, the weights around the base need to be inspected by the market manager and deemed safe and secure. Any vendor found operating under a canopy or umbrella without proper weights will be asked to take their canopy down. Repeatedly failing to have weights could result in being asked to leave TCH Farmers Market. 3. Vendors will submit any conflicts and/or concerns regarding the overall market or individual vendors in writing to the TCH Farmers Market owner via email at tempecityhallfarmersmarket@gmail.com. Thank you all for your hard work, your passion for your profession/craft, and your commitment to supporting small business and community!
